From the Mouth of My Babe

In Maddie's prayer last night she asked, "...and please bless me to believe in Jesus, and please bless me to believe that I can walk on water..."

Seriously dangerous words coming from the girl who's fearless in the water but can't swim. This girl cracks me up!

Carlee said...: Your kids crack me up too. I love the Hour story and this of Maddie. Also I love everything about the top picture. I love Maddie's outfit, and Ike's clutch move. Classic kid stuff.; September 2, 2012 at 12:47 PM

How I Want to Live My Life

I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with my children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived.
